What Families Say About Our Family Boat Trip in Ibiza

Reflections from the 5 most Recent TripAdvisor Reviews

Families visiting Ibiza often look for activities that allow them to experience the sea together in a meaningful way. Our Family Boat Trip in Ibiza was created with exactly that idea in mind: to combine snorkeling, marine discovery, and time together on the water in a safe and welcoming environment.

Over the years, many guests have shared their thoughts about the experience on TripAdvisor, writing detailed reviews of their day at sea with Meet the Sea. These independent reviews are particularly valuable because they reflect the genuine impressions of families who joined the trip.

Reading through recent reviews from late summer and autumn 2025, one thing becomes immediately clear: families often write at length about their experience. Their comments frequently highlight similar themes: children discovering marine life for the first time, parents appreciating the welcoming atmosphere, and the joy of sharing a memorable moment together.

A Typical Moment on the Trip

It often starts quietly. A child leans over the side of the boat, peering into the clear Mediterranean waters near Conejera Island. Someone spots movement among the rocks below. A guide gently lifts a sea urchin from the seabed to show its delicate structure.

Questions begin immediately.
What does it eat? Where does it live? Why does it have spikes?

Within minutes the boat is full of curiosity. Children who arrived shy or hesitant begin asking to join the first snorkeling group. Parents watch as confidence grows in the water and small discoveries turn into excitement.

These are the kinds of moments many families later describe in their reviews.

During the guided snorkeling sessions, certain species such as sea urchins or sea cucumbers may occasionally be shown so children can observe them closely and, when appropriate, gently touch them under supervision. These encounters are always conducted with care and respect for the marine environment and aim to inspire curiosity about the Mediterranean ecosystem.

 A Welcoming Environment for Families

Many parents mention how important it is that children feel comfortable and supported when exploring the sea, especially if they are initially unsure about swimming or snorkeling.

H M — October 2025

“Excellent boat trip. Greg and his team went out of their way to make us feel so welcome and put my nervous daughter at ease. Greg's enthusiasm for what he does is infectious and the paella was delicious!”
Helping children gain confidence in the water is often the first step toward making the sea a place of discovery rather than hesitation.

Discovering Marine Life During a Snorkeling Trip in Ibiza

Another theme that appears repeatedly in the reviews is the excitement children feel when they encounter marine life up close.

Thomas A — September 2025

“Brilliant experience, Gregg was so passionate and the fact we got to hold a sea urchin, sea cucumber and pet an octopus was incredible. Great knowledge and love of the sea, would recommend to anyone.”
Moments like these often transform curiosity into fascination. For many children, seeing marine creatures closely for the first time becomes one of the highlights of their holiday.

Guided Snorkeling and Time Together at Sea

Parents also frequently comment on the balance between guided activities and relaxed time in the water with their families.

Belfast, United Kingdom — August 2025

“This was an excellent family day out, Greg and his family/team couldn't have been more helpful. The combination of expertly guided swim and free time with the family in the sea is a great way to spend half a day.

Greg is very passionate and knowledgeable about the sea and the animals to be seen. Our kids loved seeing and holding all sorts of creatures! Would definitely recommend if yours have any interest in the sea!

Greg made time for everyone to get a good guided swim, conscious of safety throughout!

Boat was busy (not overcrowded) but there was plenty of equipment, food and drinks for all.

Would advise not planning on an exact return as we got longer on the boat than expected, not a complaint as felt like a bonus!”
This balance between guidance and freedom allows families to explore the Mediterranean together at their own rhythm.

Children Remember the Experience Long After the Trip

Some reviews describe how the experience stays with children long after the trip ends.

Madalina B — September 2025

“We had an amazing day on the boat near Conejera island. This can be reached only by boat and it seems it is part of a Natural Park due to its high ecological value.

It was an excellent experience for both my son and I as the whole team was so kind and friendly and they made us feel comfortable and gave us a familiar vibe.

My son was so confident and asked to be in the first round of snorkellers. He asked so many questions and was amazed how it feels when you hold a sea urchin, a sea sponge or a sea cucumber in your hand.

We have seen also a starfish, jellyfishes, green posidonia, anemona and learnt how the octopuses are building their little rock houses.

My son got a shell from one octopus abandoned house and he was over the clouds with pride. He took it back home and he has it in his room. He told all his friends about this experience.

We will definitely cherish the memories of this trip forever and we want to thank the whole team at Meet the Sea for an amazing day, filled with joy and happiness.”
Stories like this illustrate how a few hours exploring the sea can leave a lasting impression on young minds.

 Learning About Marine Life

Several parents also emphasise how much children learn about the Mediterranean ecosystem during the trip.

Nicola S — September 2025

“Myself and my 9 year old son done this trip, it was absolutely amazing, the crew genuinely have a passion for what they do and make it such a special experience.

My son learnt facts about sea creatures that he would never have learnt and held a few as well.

I would highly recommend this experience and would 100% do it again.”
Understanding marine life is an essential part of the Meet the Sea philosophy. When children discover the richness of the Mediterranean ecosystem, the sea becomes more than scenery — it becomes something worth protecting.

An Activity for the Whole Family in Ibiza

Another striking element mentioned in the reviews is how the trip works for families of very different ages.

Lou1 — Cheltenham, United Kingdom — August 2025

“This was a great family trip out. We went with our 6 year old, 9 year old (with special needs) and my 87 year old dad and everyone had a great time!

Our 6 year old loved the snorkeling and chance to paddleboard and despite our 9 year old not wanting to partake in the snorkeling she had a great time and even surprised us by jumping off the boat on a noodle at the end.

Dad stayed on the boat but enjoyed watching us in the water and relaxing with a drink.

The children also loved to watch the paella being prepped and feeding the fish the leftovers.

All in a great family trip – not cheap but we enjoyed the family run conservation element and would recommend.”
Experiences that can be enjoyed by several generations at once are increasingly rare, which is why many families highlight this aspect of the trip.

 When Families Tell the Story

We are grateful to every guest who takes the time to write such thoughtful reflections about their day with Meet the Sea.

What stands out most is the length and care many families put into their reviews. A few hours exploring the Mediterranean together often becomes a moment children talk about long after returning home.

For us, that is the true purpose of the Family Boat Trip in Ibiza: helping families discover the sea together, learn about marine life, and share experiences that remain part of their holiday memories for years to come.
