Why should families with kids in Ibiza visit Meet the Sea?

If you wonder what to do as a family with kids in Ibiza, the Family Boat trip by Meet the Sea is a beautiful day at sea, a celebration of sea and family. We merge education and entertainment to create a balanced sea adventure in the Nature Reserve of Conillera Island.

The Family boat trip is a 5-hour boat trip if you depart from our berth at the port of San Antonio or 4 hours if you choose to board in Port des Torrent water taxi stop.

Why The Family Boat trip?

In May of 2026 we start our sixth season of a boat trip dedicated to family members of all ages. The goal from the start was to design a family activity for all ages, multigenerational, where everyone from babies to grandparents have their role...and their fun! Let's see exactly what happens on board and why families benefit from a day at sea with us.

Live Presentation by our team about marine life: sea education for all

As soon as you find your spot onboard, whether in the large shaded area or in the sunny deck, our team starts a fun presentation about the species we see during our guided snorkelling tour. We are not a glass bottom boat; we are actors, not spectators. And so we show you species in the sea, with mask and snorkel. Not sitting inside a boat.

During the short and fun presentation, the whole family will learn about some of the species we see during most snorkelling tours: Posidonia or Neptune grass, octopus, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, ornate wrasses, rainbow wrasses, salemas, sea breams, sea tomatoes and starfish! We include pictures and fun facts about each species with our info-sheets.

Safety measures explained for the whole family: from beginners to experts

Just as we arrive to the calm and protected bay at Conillera Island, we explainall safety measures for your sea adventure. Our team go to each family member, individually, to provide you with a mask and snorkel. And a life vest for babies and children and noodles for adults! Everyone is fitted with mask, snorkel and life vest if you want one.

In order to make sure that beginner snorkellers feel comfortable at sea, we insist on two safety elements: life vest and life saver. You may hold on to the lifesaver attatched to our guide, even if you are wearing a life vest! Double aspect safety to ensure your comfort and self confidence.

Specific for babies: large shaded areas, drawing kit and onboard aquarium!

Babies are most definitely welcome: First, they will enjoy their pram and you may choose its location under the shaded area or in a sunnier area if its a cooler day! Second, they can keep busy drawing with the kit provided and pencils.Third, they can watch the species we feature in our onboard aquarium.

We feel that early experiences at sea are very important for children: they get used to the gentle motion of the sea, they associate the sea with moments of happiness, they begin to gorge their relationship with the sea.

A safe monohull, classic wooden boat for small groups: Comfort and safety.

Choosing the right boat for our Family Boat trip was very important. Our boat is 17meters long or 54 ft and provides the ideal setting for 10 families or about 50 passengers. You feel like you are in a small and intimate space, not in a large catamaran with two decks and more than 100 or 150 other people.

You feel the breeze under our large shaded area, you are not enclosed or feel trapped inside a cabin or windows. The sea feels close and our size allows us to navigate near the coast, protected by bays and shallow waters.

Snorkelling beginners and our double aspect safety at sea: life vest and life saver

In every trip during the season (May through October, everyday except Mondays) we see 2-year olds joining the snorkelling tour! Why? Because parents feel comfortable with the safety measures provided!

Here's how it works: first, we have life vests of very size available on board and babies and small children get one. Second, once in the water we offer all of you the possibility to hold on to our snorkelling guide's life saver. The life saver is attached to the guide and all you have to do is hold on! Now you have a life vest and a life saver. No worries, no fears. Just enjoy the underwater world.

Paella cooked by our chef: A kids-friendly meal with strictly local produce

The Paella cooked onboard by our chef is a highlight of our trip and praised by everyone! We use only locally sourced ingredients: tomatoes, green beans, green peppers, red peppers, lemons and tiny bits of chicken and pork. A really child-friendly meal!

And, of course, there is a vegetarian rice option. Just tell our chef!

Treasure hunt for children and Paddlesurfing for adults

Our fearless pirate has lost his-her long lost treasure somewhere...and we need to help them recover it! All children gather up and follow our pirate as a number of clues are found around our boat...the treasure is near, whoiwill find it first? and waht is in the treasure chest?

The treasure hunt is apt for children up to 9 years of age. But then...what about the rest of the Family? This is the time for teenagers to enjoy paddle surfing, or more snorkelling, or simply a drink at the bar!

Our onboard bar: a meeting point for adults

Nothing tastes better that a bubbly, ice cold soft drink after the salty sea! Or,perhaps something a bit stronger? The after-lunch moment is the timne to approach the bar and get a drink!

See you at Sea!
