On May 5th, at sunset, aboard Meet the Sea, we will record the first episode of a new series of conversations that begins where land ends: at sea.

Meet the Sea Podcast: Conversations at Sea is born from a simple idea: that some of the most meaningful conversations happen when we step away from noise, from routine, and allow ourselves the space to reflect.

There is no better setting for this than the Mediterranean at sunset.

 🎙️ Our First Guest: Carlos Martorell

To begin this journey, we could not imagine a more fitting guest than Carlos Martorell.

A key figure in the cultural and social evolution of Ibiza, Carlos has been a witness, and often a protagonist, of the island’s transformation over decades. From the early days of Ibiza’s international rise to its position today as a global reference point, his perspective is both unique and deeply informed.

Born in Barcelona and trained in law, Carlos began his career in public relations at a remarkably young age. His trajectory has taken him from Ibiza to New York and Paris, working alongside artists, designers, and cultural figures of global relevance, including Andy Warhol, Valentino, and Grace Jones.

Back in Ibiza, he played a fundamental role in shaping the island’s identity, being involved in the opening and promotion of iconic venues such as Pacha, Amnesia, and Ku (now UNVRS), which defined entire eras of Ibiza’s history.

His work extends beyond nightlife into publishing, television, artistic direction, and brand development, collaborating with leading international brands and institutions across Europe.

But beyond the résumé, Carlos represents something more difficult to define: a deep understanding of Ibiza’s soul.

This first episode will be recorded onboard Meet the Sea, during sunset, in one of Ibiza’s most emblematic coastal settings: Punta Galera, Cala Comte, or the island of Conejera.

The intention is simple: A calm, honest conversation. A reflection on Ibiza's past, present, and future. And the stories behind the people who have shaped it.

Our podcast is a reflection of the importance and the effect of the sea in producig moments of reflection and calm.
