Meet the Sea - Sea Retreats
The Sea Retreat Lab
Our Corporate Sea Retreats are not traditional offsites and not generic team-building events.
They are structured marine-based immersions designed to explore how dynamic sea environments influence leadership clarity, team alignment and decision-making under uncertainty.
Each retreat forms part of an ongoing applied investigation: The Sea Retreat Lab.
In collaboration with academic partners and through structured observation of each cohort, we are developing a Sea-Based Leadership Framework grounded in real-world experience at sea.
We do not present a finished doctrine. We are building one, transparently.

Why the Sea changes leadership dynamics:
Unlike hotel-based environments, the Mediterranean introduces variables that cannot be simulated in a conference room:
Dynamic Conditions
Wind, movement and environment require shared awareness and real-time response.
Visible Consequences
Actions on water affect the group immediately. Responsibility becomes tangible.
Physiological Reset
Horizon exposure and water immersion reduce cognitive overload and support clarity.
Shared Embodied Experience
Teams build reference points through lived challenge rather than discussion alone.
The sea is not a backdrop. It is an active partner in leadership development.
The Sea-Based Leadership Framework: A Working Model
1. Decision-Making Under Uncertainty
Changing sea conditions demand real-time adaptation, prioritisation and execution.
2. Trust & Role Accountability
On water, roles matter. Leadership becomes relational rather than positional.
3. Cognitive Reset & Attention Regulation
Research-informed Sea & Mind sessions and marine immersion support stress regulation and mental clarity.
4. Systems Awareness & Strategic Perspective
Engagement with protected marine ecosystems grounds long-term thinking and ESG values in lived experience.
Each retreat is designed around these dimensions, tailored to your organisation’s objectives and context.

Leadership & Experience Behind Sea Retreats
With a professional background in international finance, including experience in New York and London financial markets, Gregorio brings first-hand understanding of executive environments, performance pressure and strategic decision-making.
His academic formation includes studies at St. Paul’s School (USA), Hamilton College (USA) and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Alongside his corporate career, the sea has remained a lifelong constant. From early competitive sailing and instructing at sea schools to founding Meet the Sea in Ibiza in 2020, his work has focused on integrating marine education, leadership insight and experiential learning.
Sea Retreats emerge from this dual perspective:
An understanding of corporate leadership dynamics combined with deep, practical experience at sea.
Each retreat is supported by a certified professional team of skippers, instructors and facilitators, ensuring both safety and quality at every stage.
