School Trips
Today’s individuals must accentuate their understanding of the crucial role of oceans in the preservation of our planet.
Meet the Sea designs school trips that combine education, sports and entertainment. Our objective in each trip is to provide students with an experience that strengthens their bonds with the sea.
We share our passion and knowledge through creative episodes designed for small groups of eager minds.
Activities are:
- 4-hours long to allow for two activities to take place on the same day.
- Labelled by Theme into three categories: Education, Sports and Entertainment.
- Divided into two blocks: AM (9am to 1pm) and PM (3pm to 7pm).
- Offered in English or Spanish.
- Designed for a group size of a maximum of 30 people.


Our Ten Experiences

1. Boat Trip: Introduction to Marine Life
In its fifth year of continued success, our flagship Family boat trip focuses now on students to provide a boat experience that takes us to the natural reserve of the island of Conejera. We depart from the port of San Antonio and sail through its magnificent bay as we begin a live presentation of the local underwater flora and fauna. Once anchored in the heart of the natural reserve, we organise small groups for the guided snorkelling tour designed by our marine biologist. This experience is mandatory for all participants. All other activities are optional. |

2. Boat Trip: Exploring The Sea With Our Underwater Drone
The unmanned ROV is presented by our team leader shortly after boarding to an audience eager to understand and operate this submarine remotely operated vehicle. We have chosen strategic points of the coast of Ibiza rich in marine life to appreciate the applications and advantages of the ROV. An onboard screen shows the underwater progress of the ROV as each student has their turn at the remote helm! |

3. Paddle Surfing Expedition: The Wild North Of Ibiza
The bay of Portinatx located in the north of the island offers ideal conditions for a paddle surfing expedition in incomparable settings. We organise a private coach transfer from your hotel to the beach of Cala Xarraca, our point of departure. Our team leader then demonstrates the basics of SUP (Stand-up paddle boarding) on the beach and prepares all participants for the day’s activity during a 45-minute briefing. During the 4-hour adventure we will admire the beauty of this bay, learn about the biodiversity of its waters and understand the impact of the sea over the years in the lives of local residents. Snorkelling in specific areas of our journey accentuates contact with the sea and its beauty below the surface |
Objectives:
- To appreciate the exhilarating experience of paddle surfing in terms of body and mind.
- To discover a sustainable activity respectful of the sea guided individually and in the context of a group experience.
- To learn about the delicate balance of biodiversity in the pristine and secluded bay of Portinatx.
- To learn about the past of the coast of Ibiza through historical landmarks in our journey including pirate watchtowers, lighthouse and fishing huts.

4. Intro To Competitive Sailing: Fleet Racing Experience
In partnership with the Yacht clubs of Es Nautic in Sant Antoni de Portmany and Club Náutico de Ibiza we provide a hands-on introduction to the world of competitive sailing. We sail from either the port of Ibiza or the port of San Antonio, depending on prevailing winds, onboard a cruising sailboat guided by a team leader expert in racing. |

Objectives:
- To understand the fundamentals of sailing: Points of sail, boat parts and structure, knots, sail trim and “rules of the road”.
- To participate in a regatta to apply racing strategies previously explained by our racing expert.
- To acquire a “sense of sea” by interpreting wind and waves in order to feel more comfortable at sea in any situation.
- To strengthen leadership skills by commanding a sailing crew, decision making in adversity and self-assurance at sea.

5. Hiking Route And Snorkelling: Natural Swimming Pools Of Ibiza
Our hiking expedition takes us through breathtaking scenery of the cliffs along the coast of Ibiza. We follow our team leader, a local hiking expert, into a journey of discovery of the flora of our island. This experience is a wonderful opportunity to take dramatic pictures of the coast as we arrive to our destination: a stunning natural swimming pool where we will enjoy a well-deserved swim! We complete our hike with a snorkelling session aimed at admiring the beauty of underwater Posidonia prairies and its crucial role in preserving biodiversity. |
Objectives:
- To learn about the extremely diverse flora of Ibiza guided by a local expert renowned for the quality of his experiences.
- To capitalise on the opportunity of taking wonderful photos of nature along the division of cliffs and sea.
- To understand the geography and geology of our coast and the impact of Posidonia oceanica or Neptune grass in our waters.
- To enjoy a wonderful snorkelling session in the vicinity of the natural swimming pool selected.

- Oceanica or Neptune grass. Wetsuit if necessary.

6. Technology And The Sea: Electric Surfboard Adventure
New forms of enjoying the sea arise as technology finds its way into the world of nautical entertainment and sports. We are particularly thrilled with the appearance of the Electric Surfboard, equipped with a silent propulsion system that is powerful and resistant. A technological advance that balances fun with respect for the sea. Led by a certified board instructor, we learn on the beach the basics of the board’s operation and most salient features. We have selected the fantastic setting of Cala Comte to enjoy the natural reserve of the island of S’illa des bosc. A great opportunity to enjoy a new sport that is sustainable in its design and use. |

Objectives:
- To get a glimpse of state-of-the-art technology for sports and entertainment at sea.
- To enjoy a great day at sea led by an expert in one of the most beautiful settings of Ibiza.
- To obtain a hands-on experience at sea with a professional instructor of a device that was very successful this summer 2023.
- To come to the realization that every new product launched must be 100% respectful of the environment.

7. Las Dalias Hippies Market: The Creative Tradition of Ibiza
The story of Las Dalias, established in 1954, depicts the tradition of Ibiza as a meeting point of minds and artists around the world. It is a must for all who visit the island to explore the arts and crafts displayed in the stalls of artists whose creations reflect the island’s philosophy.
We try to uncover the essence of Las Dalias by selecting four artists who explain to our group their hand-made creative work: Jewellery, Ibiza adlib fashion, health and beauty and flavors of Ibiza. We complete our visit with a recess to listen to live music and enjoy a BBQ in the outdoor terrace.

8. Dalt Vila: The Old Town Of Ibiza
The old town of Ibiza or Dalt Vila is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1999. Our tour begins at the Portal de ses Taules, at the foot of the Renaissance fortification walls near the old fisherman’s quarters of La Marina. From there, we adapt our content to different age groups as the diversity of museums, shops, workshops and artistic activities is generous. |
Objectives
- To understand the influences of the diverse Mediterranean cultures that inhabited Ibiza over the centuries.
- Does history truly impact our lives today? We attempt to revive the excitement of students to learn about the past.
- How is your perception of architecture and lifestyle influenced without you being aware of it?
- Names that marked the history of Dalt Vila: Blakstad, Hausmann, Benjamin, Camus, De Hory, Broner…

9. Boat Trip: Ibiza Music’s Heritage Sunset And Vibes Since 1960
Ibiza was a sleepy island inhabited by few farmers and fishermen until the 1930s. Only a small group of famous artists and architects sought the peace of a mysterious and unknown paradise. In the late 1950s a few more adventuresome souls arrived and in the early 60s a world event took place that shook the foundations of the island…through music! We learn, feel and enjoy the evolution of the music scene in Ibiza through anthems from the 1960s until today during a memorable sunset boat trip. |
Objectives
- To understand the sociopolitical events that gradually transformed an agrarian society into today’s reference for club music.
- To listen to the evolution of world music as it took place in the dance floors and DJ booths of the island.
- To hear the true stories of famous musicians that visited the island and left their indelible footprint.
- To feel the magic of great music, sunset and sea.

10. Tales Of The Sea: Local Fishermen Nicholas And The Aquarium
We meet local fisherman Nicolás Vallespir at the Cap Blanc Aquarium of Sant Antoni. He arrives onboard his classic wooden fishing boat, part of the small artisan fleet of the port of San Antonio. His daily catches are appreciated by some of the top restaurants in the island such as Nobu, Sa Capella, Cipriani’s, La Escollera and many others… What does he have to say about the state of fisheries in the island? What can we do to improve the sustainability of fishing in our daily lives? What stories can he share with us? A fascinating character that leads us through the species that live in this special aquarium, unique in that it is a natural cave once used by fishermen to store their catch. Nico will delight us with the preparation of a true fisherman’s paella cooked in front of us to end our activities as part of a gastronomic display of Ibizan cuisine. |

- To learn about traditional artisan fishing through the experience of our guest Nico Vallespir.
- To visit the Cap Blanc aquarium set in a natural cave and learn about all the different local species.
- To enjoy a wonderful outdoor display of local Ibiza/Mediterranean cuisine prepared by our guest.
